Recipe: meatballs with tomato and mozzarela
This is Jamie’s recipe for delicious meatballs, made by Barbio’s 🙂
First, prepare the meatballs. Take 1 kg of beef or mixed minced meat and add 200 g bread crumbs, 1 chopped and sauteed onion and garlic, 1 Tbsp of oregano, half tsp crushed or ground cumin (adds an oriental touch, but it’s up to you if you want to include it), 1 Tbsp chopped rosemary, 1 egg, pepper and 1 tsp of Biogetta. Mix well and make small balls with wet hands. Fry them on all sides in hot pan with 3 Tbsp of olive oil.
When they are ready, add app. 200 ml of tomato sauce, the recipe you can find here. If you make more sauce, freeze it in portions to use another time. It’s also excellent with spaghetti, and with minced meat it makes a perfect bolognese. Sprinkle with chopped fresh basil and mozzarella and put it in the oven for half an hour at 200 ° C, until the cheese is nicely melted.
Serve on bread with rucola. My kids were delighted 🙂
